Cover crop roller/crimpers have surged in interest lately.
Both organic and conventional farmers have been trying them out with varied success.
As far as I know, I built the first cover crop roller in the U.S., getting the idea from South America.
After 22 years I have found that there are amazing successes and some dramatic failures with the expectations of what these machines can do. Having a consistent cover crop stand is the key to get good weed control.
But I keep coming back to my long term experience- a little bit of herbicide goes a long way in providing consistent weed control.
