This is quite interesting to me since I've spent many years doing research with cover crop radish. The aerial photo shows clear differences how cover crops can affect nutrient management.
We need to figure out how to leverage that – challenge accepted! I already have some data that shows a cover crop effect of nutrient carry over to the next crop.
Our farm was one of the sites where Dr. Ray Weil did 7 feet deep soil testing (every 4"!) 3 times a year in 4 different cover crop treatment in addition to a control. That study is wrapping up this year so we should have some interesting data to help better manage nutrients in the soil profile.
