Landis Valley Farm Museum Speaker Summaries
Tim Fritz, King's AgriSeeds, Lancaster, PA. Tim’s company vision is based on “doing right for people,” especially through nutritious food grown in healthy soil. As a seedsman, farmer, weed scientist and educator, he will share his rationale for introducing traditional farmers to hemp as a rotational crop.
Herb Grove, Brush Mountain Bison, Spring City, PA. Herb and his family, friends and employees have grown hemp at commercial scale since 2019. Truckloads of hemp grain are sent to a processor more than a thousand miles away. This is the distance Herb goes to relentlessly pursue this crop. Herb will talk about his operation, hemp’s value as animal feed, and the benefits he sees firsthand in his animals.
Thomas K. Phillips, Doylestown Hemp, Doylestown PA. Growing sustainable, profitable crops and reducing home building costs by half is a win-win! In his presentation, Thomas will draw the hemp connection between Pennsylvania farmers and alleviating Pennsylvania’s affordable housing shortage. His hemp products, including acoustical tile, insulation, panels and spray-applied hempcrete can be used in new construction, retrofits and renovations.
David Cook, Tuscarora Mills, Bedford PA. Working domestically and abroad, Dave and his wife Heidi weave natural fiber fabric in PA. As a well-connected and respected professional in the bast fiber textile world, Dave is an advocate for Pennsylvania to be a leader in American hemp fiber and fabric production.
Mark Green, Think & Grow Solutions, Philadelphia PA. Mark and his team have trademarked an FDA approved hemp protein mixture — a nutrient dense, lactose free, non-allergenic dairy alternative. Co-packed in Philadelphia, Mark highlights the market potential for hemp food products grown and processed in PA.
Dan Summa, Laurel Materials and AgriHemp Industries, Mayfield, PA. Dan’s sister companies straddle CBD processing and industrial fiber markets. He will talk about supplying CBD to a billion-dollar, multinational company and creating a patented process to make graphene with hemp as a critical component. All in northeastern PA!
